چکیده
This paper aims to analyse the technical efficiency (TE) of dairy farms and find its determinants. To accomplish this problem, Stochastic Frontier Analysis was applied. The data were obtained from Farm Accountancy Data Network database for (TF15-45—Specialist dairying) 2004–2019. Dairy divided into four clusters according their physical size (number livestock units per farm) economic (standard output farm). largest by are located in Denmark Cyprus. smallest, comparison, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovenia. Farms EU relatively technically efficient, i.e., they use resources efficiently produce maximum (production). However, have potential achieve better results be more competitive, as farms’ is not fully optimised. abolition milk quota can considered a factor improving efficiency, indicator higher after abolition. New old member states almost comparable levels (the p-value t-test 0.463), with members having slightly level TE. Subsidies contradictory effects on subsidies cow €51–100/cow. increase, TE decreases. Only group highest has More diversified efficient than specialised farms. Milk yield did influence analysed indicator. analysis serve stakeholders tool modelling future agricultural policy, European very heterogenous show different conditions outcomes.

Determinants of technical efficiency among dairy farms in Wisconsin.
The US dairy sector is facing structural changes including a geographical shift in dairy production and a tendency toward the implementation of more intensive production systems. These changes might significantly affect farm efficiency, profitability, and the long-term economic sustainability of the dairy sector, especially in more traditional dairy production areas. Consequently, the goal of t...

The aim of this study is to investigate the context by which veterinary services may affect technical efficiency (TE) of Iranian dairy farms. A data envelopment analysis (DEA) was applied to a random sample of 840 dairy farms from six provinces across Iran to estimate regional frontier and metafrontier production functions and also to calculate corresponding TE of these farms. The relationship ...

The average dairy cow survives only three lactations, reducing the availability of replacement heifers. Prenatal losses occur due to early embryonic mortality (about 40%), later embryo loss (up to 20% in high-yielding herds) or abortion (about 5%). A recent survey of 19 UK herds showed that 7.9% of calves were born dead and 3.4% died within 1 month. During the rearing phase, 6.7% of animals wer...
